Smollett appeared featured in The Great Debaters along with Forest Whitaker and Denzel Washingon, who directed the drama. Jurnee also won the NAACP Image Award, which is presented to the most outstanding lead actress in a motion picture. Tyler Perry's Temptation was her largest success at the box office, aside from Perry's Madea brand. She has also appeared in an independent film One Last Thing with Wendell Pierce. Other credits are Hands Of Stone, opposite Robert DeNiro, Edgar Ramirez and Roll Bounce.
