Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American TV personality who is a chef, and a ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spiky blonde hair and a bubbly personality, reveals simple methods to master and removes intimidation of restaurants dishes in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has also worked at many of the best eateries in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy, and battled in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food from an early age. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled to earn an English degree and a Communications diploma in Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I loved being a Culinary Institute of American student. I loved every minute of it." I could not study or accomplish enough. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one period of time in Italy attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. During her time in Italy she grew to truly be aware of the philosophy behind Italian cuisine and culture which has had a profound impact on her culinary perspective. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids who have challenges. As an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to talk about her love of cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne has said during her career in the kitchen that she feels so fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others what is essential for her.
